The Cadet Saddlebag is the same size as the Nelson Saddlebag but without the external pockets. It has leather patches on the lined lid so that extra loads can be lashed on. The saddlebag comes with 3 leather straps to attach it to the seat post and bag loops on the saddle. All of our saddlebags can be made without leather content - we substitute recycled firehose material instead.

Disclaimer - Colour shade may vary due to materials supply.  Colour/design of lining and reflector may vary.

Cadet: One of the only classic bags to fit between handlebars

Very happy with my Cadet so far, which I use as a front bag positioned between my 42cm wide handlebars. I manage to fit a complete repair kit, rain jacket and trousers, food and extra changing clothes. Perfect for long distance.
I plan to use is in combination with the camper long flap for bike packing.

One happy commuter

Took a punt on this bag as I have a relatively long commute (30kms), and need to take my laptop. I've tried rucksacks (can get too hot), panniers (feels like overkill- especially in crosswinds), so had my eye on a Carradice system for a while. Going with a saddlebag looked to be quite an aero setup- keeping my back free of load, but with the bag 'tucking in' under my saddle for admittedly marginal gains.
The cadet fits my 15" laptop, spares for a mechanical, and a spare shirt without problem. I'm probably knocking on the door of the 5 / 6kgs limit of the classic saddle bag rack (fixed via the adaptor loops to a fizik aliante), but I enjoy being able to uncouple the whole bag and rack system- if I just fancy a blast out on the bike without luggage.
I avoided the side pockets of the other bags as I wanted the bag to sit behind the width of my backside, which this does just about! Its a great bag- and would definitely do a great job for short tour or day trip.
After some fettling to get the set up right, I can say I'm really happy with it. The quality of the bag is very good, and in my humble opinion, looks great with my tan walls and ti frame.
I have absolutely no qualms recommending. Thank you Carradice.
