My thoughts on the Duxback rain poncho

Portland, OR gets a lot of rain and from my experience of 24 years as a bike mechanic and daily commuter, (I don't own a car) your poncho is the gold standard of the industry. My last Duxback lasted 14 years! So glad to own one!!! I don't ever use the hood though. It would be great to either take it off or there be a Duxback option that has no hood...

Really like it, but a few issues

The hood is way too small! and the shoulders are too wide.

Poncho power!

I initially thought this is going to be an expensive luxury product of little practical value, but I could not be more wrong. I really enjoy casual cycling commute to work and other places but unpredictable weather of the North of England means I often take the car to avoid the drench. I had quite a few wet experiences, including a hit from a puddle splash from a fast SUV, and the poncho kept both me and most of the bicycle dry. Straps also windproof to high-degree. I now consider it indispensable and it is giving me a lot of confidence and joy and ultimately makes me cycle more.

The hood size is very clever as it still allows me to wear a helmet and still have a lot of visibility. Considering how big it is, it is not very heavy at all.

I confess the looks are a little too important for me, and with the poncho I was worried I may look like cosplay of a Nazgûl on a bicycle, but somehow I have put these thoughts far, far behind. The colour is very nice and the inside too.

A wonderful piece of gear!

Here in the States rain capes are not a thing. I’ve always wondered why. My first day riding with the Duxback Rain Poncho was a complete delight. Stayed dry and cool, especially in the humid San Francisco rains. Added bonus, people smile at you when you’re riding your bike in a rain cape!
