good system with room for improvement

The concept of the SQR system is great, especially if you want to use your saddlebag on multiple bikes. Bag (de)attaching is done in 2 seconds, it can hold up 10 kg and without the bag the remaining block is much lighter and prettier than an empty bagman.

But it should be considered that larger saddle bags (I use a Nelson LF) bend around the skinny frame when they aren't full. And the bag swings significantly during riding, especially when you go out of the saddle.
I have solved this issue by a thin plastic stiffener inside the bag which I have fixed to the frame through the cotton duck. Now it is solid like the SQR Slim or Tour.
I wish Carradice would offer an SQR frame which also has a rail to support the bag from below. This would combine the benefits of the SQR and the bagman without modification of the saddlebag.

Review

I have started using the SQR system for all my bikes and saddlebags now because it more easily allows the full volume of the larger bag models to be used. The support frame of the quick release system seems to work well with the smaller saddlebag models but the depth is limiting for the larger ones. My only negative remark is that the SQR frame is a little heavy.

Works well although I had a bag eject from the clamp once, watch the button has fully engaged as sometimes it might need pushed further. That issue aside this does make it easy to fit the bag and has a high weight rating. The classic rack is better if you have saddle loops and a lighter bag, this covers everything else and you can use a regular saddle with no loops. I have two bags with the frame and will buy another block for convenience when my new bike arrives.
